Photos: Elephants and Giraffes in Africa

This herd of elephants came walking towards our vehicle, so naturally we stopped, watched, and clicked away with our cameras.  The adults lead the way, with the baby elephants trailing.
These giraffes stood like a pair of bookends towering above the brush, with the slopes of Ngorongoro Crater providing an attractive backdrop.
Seregeti is Swahili for "endless plain."  Indeed it is.  The Serengeti is about the size of the State of Connecticut.  It was formed by the lava flow from the eruption of the volcano that is now Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest crater, which is about 10 miles (16 km) across.
These two adolescent elephants were fighting like typical teenagers.
These Thompson's gazelles also squared off to butt heads.
