Photos: The Menthol Blue Waters of the Grand Canyon

River rafting through the Grand Canyon provides glimpses of the rim of the inner gorge, looking up through countless side slot canyons.  The Grand Canyon is 5 times deeper than the walls of the inner gorge that line the river.
Our Visionary Wild photographers' expedition through the Grand Canyon used rafts and skillful river guides from Arizona Raft Adventures. It was a pleasure to meet new friends on the trip, several of whom were repeating the Grand Canyon photo tour with Visionary Wild.  Dave and I have signed up for another Visionary Wild photo workshop in the future.  Check out the link to their website.
This is a glimpse down a narrow slot canyon to the main waters of the Colorado River.  You can see a hint of the menthol blue waters of the tributary.
A fellow traveller took this photo of me cooling off in the mint colored waters of Havasu Creek.  Charles Turner wrote an excellent and detailed blog of our trip.  I highly recommend it.  If you are considering making a rafting trip, his blog gives a remarkable day-by-day account of what to expect, and his photos are superb.

The menthol blue waters of Havasu Creek that lead away from Havasu Falls on the Havasupai Tribal Lands are magical.  One of these years Dave and I want to hike down to Havasu Falls.
