Photos: The Faces of Siem Reap, Cambodia

The 216 faces on the facade of the temple at Angkor Thom are majestic.  This is located just outside Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Many of the ancient Khmer temples are surrounded by moats, with carved figures lining the edges fo the bridges that cross the moats.  In some locations, the heads were cut off and sold by looters.
The top of this tall banyan tree caught my eye.
This long corridor illustrates both the large size of the temples and the intricate details.
The roots that have dropped from the banyan trees have in some cases taken hold of and envelope the temples.  The government plans to remove the trees to prevent further damage to the

temples.
